Yes, Terrell Owens, you have made the headlines again.
I know the fines don’t mean much to you. It’s sort of like losing a dollar in a coke machine. I know you had a rough childhood. You have made that clear. I know you are one of the best receivers in the NFL.
After getting released by Philly then signing that big contract with Dallas, I thought for sure you would get some counselling. Dallas had to have made that a part of your contract, no?
Owens vowed to be a better man and a better teammate in Dallas. While the fine is the most drastic, he already has done plenty to stand out.
He missed much of the offseason training program — with permission — and turned his hamstring injury into an attention-getter by flying in specialists to help him rehabilitate and wearing a cycling team outfit one day while pedaling a stationary bicycle.
The bike outfit was funny. Heck, the push-ups while being surrounded by reporters was funny too. In a, “look at that guy getting sacked” kind of way. Don’t you realize that people think you are a clown?
You want respect. Respect is a two way street, Mr. Owens.
Of course, it would take some common sense to know that.
